🛡️ Why Ledger®?
Ledger® is a leading hardware wallet designed to protect your crypto assets. Unlike software wallets that store your private keys on your computer or phone, Ledger® stores them offline on a physical device, offering superior security against online threats like hacking and phishing attacks.
When you purchase your Ledger® device, you're investing in a reliable, secure, and efficient way to manage your cryptocurrencies. Whether you're holding Bitcoin, Ethereum, or any other digital asset, Ledger® keeps your funds safe, giving you peace of mind.
📦 Unbox and Inspect Your Ledger® Wallet
When you receive your Ledger® wallet, follow these instructions:
- Check the box for any signs of tampering or damage.
- Inside the box, you should find the Ledger® device, a USB cable, a set of recovery phrase cards, and a user guide.
- Ensure all items are present and in perfect condition.
💻 Download and Install Ledger Live
Ledger Live is the official app that lets you manage your Ledger® device and crypto assets. It's available on Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android. Follow these steps to get started:
- Go to Ledger.com/start and select your operating system.
- Download the app and follow the installation instructions.
- Launch the app and select "Get Started".
🔌 Connect Your Device to Ledger Live
Once Ledger Live is installed, connect your Ledger® wallet to your computer or mobile device using the USB cable or Bluetooth (for Ledger® Nano X). The app will guide you through the process of setting up your device.
- Choose your preferred language and set up your PIN code (4-8 digits).
- Ledger® will then generate a 24-word recovery phrase for you to securely write down.
- Ensure your recovery phrase is stored in multiple secure locations.
🔄 Verify Your Device and Recovery Phrase
During the setup process, Ledger® will ask you to verify your recovery phrase to ensure you've written it down correctly. This verification step ensures you can restore access to your funds if your device is lost or stolen.
After successful verification, you can proceed with customizing your device and installing apps for the cryptocurrencies you want to manage.
🔐 Install Cryptocurrency Apps on Your Ledger® Device
Your Ledger® device can support a wide variety of cryptocurrencies, but each requires its own app for storage and management. Using Ledger Live:
- Navigate to the "Manager" section in Ledger Live.
- Allow Ledger® Live to access your device.
- Select the apps you want to install (e.g., Bitcoin, Ethereum, etc.) and click "Install".
